"Huffer" Just Doesn't Have a Clue
"While Bill Clinton is aplogizing for not having done more to reduce the disparity in sentencing for crack and powder cocaine that is in part responsible for putting one in nine young black men in prison, his wife opposes even the most modest attempt to fix the problem."
Huffington Post Contributor, Maia Szalavitz
Yes, Maia, and the disparity between legal immigration laws and illegal immigration laws is part responsible for putting more Hispanics in prison than blacks. With this logic I'm sure you would agree that guns kill people and spoons make Rosie fat, right? Or is this subject matter just too complex for anyone but elite liberals to understand? Break a law, go to jail. Yeah, that's too complex. Sorry.
You say the problem is the law, not people's behavior, right? Pass the spoon!

No, it's clearly too complex for *you* to understand-- the research shows that there are an equal proportion of black and white drug dealers, but blacks get sent to prison for it at a rate about 5 times higher than for whites. How do you explain that other than racism?
Research also shows that Western Europe has less drug use than we do and less drug related deaths-- but their prison sentences are shorter. So, if its liberal to get better value for money, and keep more people alive, have less crime and fewer people in prison, then, yup, this is a liberal drug policy.
Conservatives usually like to do that, too, however...

Racism or culture, Maia.
Black culture continues to slide into a desperate seeking for cultural identity. The civilized countries such as Milawi reflect that racism has nothing to do with it. Culture has everything to do with it.
The culture of victimization continues to be the strongest/weakest suit for Americans of African heritage. The drug and gangster culture has taken over both white and blacks in urban areas.
The statistics (which I'd love to see) are being skewed because of what you WANT to see in them. The quagmire of drugs is an equal opportunity destroyer. It's not black culture verses white culture. It is self-responsibility and citizenship verses victim and irresponsibility in a culture lacking a moral compass.
